The first one was a gift for a Christmas Exchange and the other 2 I haven't decided if I am keeping or gifting. To go along with remodeling the house I have thrown in some crafts to do in my down time. I'm currently working on this tinkerbell paperbag album. I am loving the way the flower turned out after all the work I put into it. It was easier than I thought. And I'm working on a halloween cross stitch freebie that I don't have a picture of because I just started it. There will be more to come though!

Today I just had to get some stitching done. I was digging through my stash and came across this mini Bucilla kit I picked up at Michaels forever ago. Started stitching and couldn't put it down. And I was still able to get some cleaning done before picking the kids up from school.

Instead of using the plastic frame that came with it I found this tuck ornament I bought of ebay to stuff it in. To me they seemed destined for one another :0)

Boo!! EEK Scream........Halloween!!!!

Can you guess what all those lovely paper packs are for!! You guessed it....Halloween mini albums. I pulled out the paper, the embellishments and my cricut so that when the kids go back to school next week I am going into full scrapbook mode (ok I can do the laundry and cooking too but that's where I draw the line! ) I picked up Ghost and Goblins and Harvest Gathering this week at Joanns (sad they were out of the sticker packs) and the other 2 I picked up last year after Halloween. Can't wait to get those creative juices flowing!!

New storage for my Cricut Cartridges

My sweet hubby picked up this great storage container for my cricut cartridges from Joanns. It holds 16 cartridges which is great because I mostly use my SCAL to cut on my cricut. This little diddy fits in my scrapbook bag so I can take it with me on my scrapping journeys!!

Flower Power Board Book and Paper Bag Albums

While I was on vacation in between the stitching I also got some scrapbooking done once we got back home to my craft room. This was very fun to make. With the leftover supplies and cuts from the paperbag album I made a 4x4 mini board book album from an children's board book. Both were fun to piece together. I already have a couple more kitted up to start once the kids go back to school.

Who wouldn't love a vacation to nature. Mountains, frogs and fresh air. These pictures were from our drive into the Great Smokey Mountains National Park up to Clingman's Dome. Was a very nice day and the kids thought it was cool. After our drive we happily went back to our cabin to enjoy eating popcorn on the front porch and watching the lightning bugs.

Yet another thing I am loving right now is cutey owls. I liked this pattern so much I stitched it twice. I an thinking of stitching it again in bright colors to make some cards for next spring. Yeah another crafty finish for me. I have a box of frames I keep for whatever projects and since all it does is rain everyday now I decided I was going to get more than housework done. I painted the frame dark blue first then white and did a little gentile sanding to give it the worn look.

Bloom, Bloom, Bloom

Life is in bloom! New flowers are popping up all over my garden. The zinnia came from a seed I planted, the devils trumpet was a gift from my neighbor and the crepes are actually from the same plant but are blooming 2 different colors. I also picked off 2 more tomatoes off my plant yesterday too. Another tomorrow and we should have some nice salad this weekend.

Loving my Sunflower

I am so loving that my sunflower finally bloomed. After having a pumpkin plant grow 40ft giving me not 1 pumpkin I was worried this was going to be another plant without a flower. It has grown to 7ft and gave this beautiful bloom. Even my husband loves it and said I really did good with this one lol Now lets see if the other 3 will make me proud too.

My new hobby is couponing! I'm not extreme but I do love saving money. My best deal yet is getting $130 in goods for $20. I wish we had double or triple couponing here but that isn't going to happen. This is a freebie pack I got from Target with all the samples and a bundle of coupons! Great for my upcoming vacation. My goal is to get back to posting as I have a bunch of scrapbook and stitching finishes. And hopefully when I go back to class in the fall it won't interfere with my crafting the way going back to work has lol!

OK so I haven't gotton any stitching or scrapbooking done BUT for a very good reason. Both the kids are in school this year and I am now off the SAHM roster. I started working part time the day the kids went back to school. Steph has homework 4 nights a week and Nick has homework only on the weekends. I think the school sends it home just so mom and dad can't have a relaxing weekend lol.

I need to finish up my Halloween Ornament for my partner and get it in the mail by the 30 (yes 3 days away) and then get started on my Christmas Ornament Exchange. I also want to make a blanket and a scrapbook for my nieces new baby girl due to arrive in November. I know someone take something off this plate of mine. Should I through in I have 10 Christmas Ornament orders and 6 scissor fob orders to make for Christmas.

Things are going good so far and I have lost 10 lbs since I started working. Which means I started actually eating a breakfast and getting a lunch in instead of spending lunch time driving to pick Nick up from school. And Harry has been cooking dinner the nights I work late. It is nice coming home to a warm meal (and I didn't have to stop and pick it up or cook it) He enjoys helping and knows I don't want him anywhere near my washer and dryer.

Well there is my good excuse now I am going to bed. Busy day tomorrow!!

Yes Yes another quaker design...but this one has a house so I'm not entirely insane with quakers. I liked the colors because they were different from the other quakers I do. I love Prairie Schooler. I never get tired of stitching them. They stitch up so nice and not that I mind backstitching but it is nice not to have any in these designs. For some reason people find it funny that I can cross stitch and not know how to sew. My DH knows how to sew better than me and still has his little sewing pouch the Army gave him lol. Now that I have 2 sewing machines in the house I am determind to learn how to use them.

In the meantime I tried a little sewing by hand tonight (with the help of youtube) and my 8yr old couldn't be happier with her new purse. My Nicholas wants to know if I will make him one. I told him mommy will have to learn how to make a backpack because boys don't carry purses. He was not so pleased with me. My mom made one of these for me when I was real little and now I know I'm getting old when things start coming back into style for my kids.

An Independence Day Album

I started this before the house remodel and finally got a clear spot to do some scrapbooking. This is my 1st 4th of July scrapbook finish and I think I like it lol. It amazes me how a simple $0.70 board book can be made into a memory. I added a little bit of cookout and watermelon paper to it because what is the 4th without those 2 things. I found the 2 of the cutest scrapbook lines I have yet to see and had to get them. It was futile to resist expecially since they were all on clearance.

Paper Bag Spring Scrapbook Finish

Rain Rain has finally started to go away

Before the rain came to wash us away I got some gardening done. I added new flowers to the fence and added a border to the left so I can put my grandmothers Madonna statue there. As you can see my pumpkin has gone amazon and actually has jumped the border on both sides. Forthought would have been to read up about pumpkins before planting it there because they get up to 25ft long. I also get the feeling I will be making pumpkin pie, pumpkin bread, hmm what else can you make with a pumpkin lol.

The pea plants have given us nice peas to eat. The kids check them every day to see who gets to find and eat them. So I started some more buds to add. I thought my neighbors would take issue to my garden in the front yard but all I have gotton is how nice it is.

I had a nice fountain that finally kicked the bucket and didn't want to pay out the $35 for a new pump so I turned it into a planter in my back yard under one of my jasmine vines. We have vines one each side of the fences that smell so nice.

Next up is redoing the back plant bed. I put new mulch down, still need to trim the Hibiscus and have 5 new planters I stil need to pick plants for. I find the less expensive the plant to buy the longer it last. Those ones are so durable to rain, sun and cold.

Excuse my long grass in the pictures, we are getting to where we will have to start cutting it twice a week.

My Baby Boy is graduating Preschool. Where has the time gone. Nicholas turned 5 on the 13th and is ready for summer to begin. Now I won't be doing taxi service with them both going to different schools. Bad thing now is school starts 40 minutes earlier in the fall. I am so not a morning person so this is going to be interesting. Good thing Harry gets home from work around the time we all need to get up and start our day. Stephanie is all ready to show him their school. She finishes being on the honor roll all year and only missing one day of school. She was not happy about that either lol. Well more time to take pictures and craft I guess. :0)

This Wed we were asked to bombared Stephs teacher with chocolate so we are going to put some chocolates in there and send it in with a little card that matches. Getting ready for Spring

We picked up the border for my new flower beds this week. I can't wait to finish pulling up the grass to start putting them in. Then I get to pick out all my plants and flowers. I already visited Home Depot and Lowes to eye some choices.

Tonight I finished up these 2 springtime cards for the kids easter baskets. Stephanie asked if we could make 19 for her class and teacher. I said " How about one for the teacher and we will get the rest of the class some spring themed pencils. She was pleased with that.

Within the next 3 days I have to head over to my friend Shays because she is going to loan me some of her stamps to do some more cards. My next project is Birthday cards. more to come .....

Can't believe I haven't had any crafty finishes

So I haven't been stitching, or scrapbooking, or beading BUT I have been gardening lol. We finally got the giant queen palm tree in our front yard cut down. Harry (my husband) told me to make sure I don't pull in the wrong driveway now. Listen I only did that once and it was when we bought the house lol.

I tore out a large 4'x6' patch of grass to start the new plant bed. While out there working my behind off the neighbors seemed to be interested in why my front yard was being rearranged lol. One came over and asked what I was doing I told her my plans and she said will I come design hers next. I laughed then realized she was serious lol.

I also took some new pictures of the kids while they were riding their scooters in the front yard last weekend. They are growing so fast. I took some pictures of the neighbors DD and now she has hired me to do a family picture of her and her daughter. I am excited as it is my 3rd paid Photography job.

Shay and I also did some mad Geocaching last week. On Monday we got 15 and on Thursday we got 20. I wanted to go tomorrow but my allergies have gone crazy and I don"t think it would be wise to go trekking through the woods lol.

Well 2 days after Halloween already and I have my house ready for Thanksgiving. I even have my turkey in the freezer lol. I spent today cleaning and am feeling like things are finally getting organized. I stitched this Turkey while watching TV one night. He was a fun stitch. I just didn't know how to finish him so left it as it for now. This was a Bent Creek Zipper chart and I used DMC threads on MCG Textiles 28ct Khaki evenweave. Now to finish making some ornaments to add to my ornament tree this year and to send to my Ornament Exchange Partner.

Disney Scrapbook 1st 4 pages

I started a Disney scrapbook for my sils trip to dianey with her husband and 3 of the kids. They had never been as a family and I've never seen her have a photo album so thought she would like something she could enjoy instead of something she has to dust. Here are the 1st 4 pages. One the 1st one I added a picture of all of them standing in front of the castle. The second page will have a picture of the baby giving tigger a high 5. The 3rd picture is of the baby carrying around a stuffed mickey mouse. And the last picture will be put on the page of the baby sleeping with mickey and winnie the pooh in his crib.

I'm not doing the pages in any order. I have more done but still have to take pictures of them. I accidently already added pictures to some before I could take pictures of the pages so you'll get to see some of the munchkins. I'm only making an 8x8 album because I find the 12x12 akward and hard to store.

My Sanman partner has received her exchange so I can post my card finish. Silly me forgot to take a picture of what I put in it lol. I made the card and wrapped her package like a piece of candy. It was a fun exchange. Hers to me was just as nice and the kids liked taking all my goodies. Nicholas (4) took the skeleton gloves she sent and Stephanie (7) took the note pad and pencils. She loves drawing. I made another for my 123 stitch Halloween exchange but we are both behind on sending so I can't post that one yet.

This one has got to be my favorite piece I finished today. Stitched on 28ct evenweave from JCS magazine. Now it is ready to be hung on my Ornament Christmas Tree (well whenever we get to that time when the tree goes up lol) ~

I have been getting some finishing done today. Ran over tho the Joanns and picked up some trim and then went over to Micheals who is having a sale on trim. The first is by Sanman Originals. I love the little bees. The second was in a European cross stitch magazine but it has been so long I din't even know which one. The frog is for my niece who loves green and frogs. Haven't decided on the bee one. Thought I would keep it and hang it during spring time. I'm posting the third finish above~

Autumn Stitching Finishes

I was in the mood to decorate so dug through my finished pieces and pulled out 2 autumn finishes. I discovered my strong dislike for the glue gun and sticky mat. Not a good combo for me. I had glue wrapped around my wedding ring and didn't realize it until 2 hours later.

Wow I can't believe it has been a month since I last posted. I really haven't been up to much but I did manange to get a bunch of scissor fobs made and some scrapbooking done. I can't show the scrapbooking because the album I am making is a Christmas gift and I wouldn't want to give any clues away other than it screams DISNEY lol. I promise to post more as I do have a couple stitching finishes and will then probably start posting pages from the scrapbook I am making.

I already decorated for fall already and we are so looking forward to Halloween as we are decorating the garage as a Haunted House this year.

Two Rockin' Scrap Finishes

Stephanie loves Camp Rock and instead of paying out for items that that will eventually go out of style I made 2 things for her homework area. The 1st was a recycled spagetti can and the cork buiietin board I bought new at the thrift store for $2.50. I used my Cricut machine to cut out the letters Camp Rock and did some painting for the rest. Now just to find some neat pins for the cork board and they will be good to go.

Recycling a shoe box

With school starting I thought I would share a little secret I do to save money on gift boxes for birthdays and Christmas. I bought my dd like 5 or 6 pairs of shoes, you know tennis shoes, sandles, flats, and such. And now with my son going to school this year I bought him 3 new pairs of shoes too. Giving me aroun 8 or 9 small boxes (hey ones 4 the other 7 and they both wear toddler shoes lol) anywho.

I can pick up a large roll of gift wrap from the $1 store that seems to last me forever so I wrap the shoe boxes in wrapping paper, throw in some tissue paper and pop a bow on top. If your time it , right after easter they now have crinkle paper stuffing for the baskets and they sell it for like $0.37 each package instead of $1.99 or more. Because I have so many this year I'm going to use them to store my craft supplies. Hope someone can use this idea. It works on adult shoe boxes too.

Scrapbooking

Yeah I finally finished something. And it took less than an hour. Simple can made into I don't know what yet but it sure looks cute doing nothing. I know summer is just about over but I loved the colors together. Next I'm thinking a fall or winter design with snowflakes. Only problem is I have to eat all the mint chocolate goodies in the can first. I am in love with my Cricut machine that my husband bought me. I'm trying out greeting cards now to get them made for this Christmas. I also made a cute little album for my nephew I will post soon when I get ime to take the pictures. School starts on Monday so maybe once we get things flowing again. Happy Scrapping!

GeoCaching

I haven't gotton any stitching done at all in weeks. I have been scrapbooking with my friend Shay and Geocashing with her and her family. Besides the spiders, big black snakes and mosquitos we did alright. I popped this pick of my little monkey down at Reflections Park. Well if you call a dock and a lake a park then yeah the park lol. I can't believe school starts the 18th already. She starts the 2nd grade and Nicholas will be in pre-k. 3 hours with no kids, what will I do with myself.

With the bad influence of Shay my husband bought my a Cricut machine to scrapbook and make cards with. I explained that it would also be good forthe kids school projects when I cut out big letters and stuff. He was sweet and I so owe him. Just wait though I am almost done with my 1st paper bag album. Deana is making 2 at the same time. One for a friend and one for herself. I'll post mine here when I'm done. I did at least kit up a couple projects for stitching just in case I get the itch again soon. Later for now~

My 1st Pinkeep

I thought I would try my hand at a pinkeep. Even though I don't even sew or use pinkeeps but it was too cute not to try right. I stitched this freebie last year as an evening finish. I loved the look of the fabric for the back I picked up at Joanns for $0.99. It was one of those quarter flats. I only had to use a small piece so have leftovers for another project or 2 :0) It doesn't look perfectly straight but I love the way it turned out anyway. Now to figure out where to put it.

Pump It Up

Last week I took Nicholas, Emily and Deana over to Pump it Up. (Stephanie was in reading camp) Anywho it was the best $12 I spent all week. Nicholas didn't want to go through the door and was very timid but right away he was off on his own. No one else was there so we had the whole building to ourselves. Deana even made a video with my camera of her riding down one of the slides and flying over the bumper and hittin the mat below. It was funny listening to her go thump lol.

3rd Day of Stitching

Wow can't believe it's only been 3 days of stitching on this. I love this piece. With thousands of skeins of threads I don't have a color I need. Surprise there huh. Anyway besides being out of a couple colors I just need to finish up the flower and move to the other side. I have a few more pieces kitted up that I took pictures of. Can't wait to share them.

What a great 4th of July. We grilled, went swimming and watched fireworks. Since Nick doesn't like swimming just us girls went into the pool. Steph and Deana didn't want to get out but Stephs lips were purple :0)

Well summer is definatly here is the sunny state of FL. Or should I say rainy state. It seems likes it is raining everyday now. My flowers and my water bill are both doing very well lol. The sky also is making some beautiful colors at sunset and 4 swans a swimming at Downtown Disney :0). Now all I want to do is try and get the kids to the beach. No one even wants to go in the water we just want to make sandcastles! I also would love to get some more pictures like these. <3

Christmas Box Finish

I have so many stitched pieces and not enough ways to finish them. Well I found this box for $1.50 at a thrift store. Though the mosiac look of the top was cute it wouldn't go with my decor. Here are pictures of the #1 the stitched piece, #2 the box, #3 the box open and #4 the finished result. It is not a small box either it measures 8"x8". I used padded mounting board and a hot glue gun to glue down the braided border.

My niece visited for 2 weeks and I can't believe I didn't get one bit of stitching done. Hey a 16 yr old with a 7 and 4 yr old can be exhausting lol. Anyway here is one of my new projects. I'm a starter not a finisher too~ Here are pics of 2 days of stitching. I love how easy it stitches up.

My favorite color is blue so this has been fun to stitch. I'm not much of a bird person but this freebie screamed "stitch me". I stitch on it here and there when I want something I don't have to change colors on. I still have the other bird and some berries left.

This one has proven to be a PITA piece. I'm stitching over 1 and messed up. I started to frog it and put it down not to touch it for months. I've already dug it out and just need a swift kick in the rear to get it going.
